Stress Reduction, Self-Care and Happiness in the Workplace
This fascinating, informative and interactive talk/workshop combines recent findings, practices, tools, and techniques that not only impact our health, spiritual and emotional well-being, but provide insight into how and what we can change and apply in our lives to achieve a more 'stress-free' and healthier life, including where we spend a large majority of our time, at work. Many companies and organisations have expressed to me that 'employee burnout' has not only increased, but has become a major factor in employee productiveness, absence, morale and, most notably, the overall 'culture' of the workplace. This interactive workshop/talk is meant to directly address, and provide solutions to, these and a multitude of other factors plaguing our personal and professional lives today. *Industries that benefit greatly from this interactive talk/workshop include: Social Service, Non-Profit, Healthcare, Insurance, Public Service, Educational Institutions and privately owned corporations who provide 'care' to their customers/clients.*
I think most people would agree that how we lead our personal, professional, social and family lives has changed dramatically since the millennium came upon us... and the majority of us have not truly realized the impact that this has had on our physical, spiritual and emotional well-being.
My years of client work and study of human behaviour, health, counselling and wellness has proven to me that our ever changing, fast-paced world has affected our lives for the worse in 4 specific ways:
1) How we manage and 'deal with' stress and how it is wreaking havoc on our body, mind and spirit.
2) How we no longer can effectively manage our time (E.g. 'Work-Life Balance').
3) How we neglect to care for ourselves and, at times unknowingly, place the world's and others' needs before our own (this is explored much further in the workshop!).
4) How our performance and level of happiness/satisfaction has waned as many of us continue to struggle in finding purpose, fulfillment and passion in the workplace.
Not only will a number of proven, effective and realistic strategies, exercises, tools and techniques be explored, but I teach the audience how to actually practice and implement them into their daily lives (both personally and professionally). Many speakers and workshop 'presenters' attempt to teach tools and techniques that are effective in addressing what I have talked about above, but through my many years of education and practice in social and health sciences, I have chosen to present only those strategies, exercises, tools and techniques that people actually do find valuable, practical and effective in helping them manage and reduce stress, manage their time and expose 'hidden time waster's,' become more passionate and fulfilled in their work and implement self-care practices into their daily lives... the things that we all not only require, but deserve to have in order to lead a healthier, , happier and more desirable life!
