Terms & Policies

Coaching:

Coaching is an ongoing relationship between a coach and a client and is a process. Coaching is a structure that facilitates the process of personal, professional and / or spiritual development. The Client and Coach agree that the coaching relationship will be designed together in relation to the clients’ expressed needs and goal(s).

The Coaching and Life Skills Counselling services Jordon Iorio Personal Development & Life Coaching provides are for individuals who are emotionally and psychologically healthy and who want to make changes and move forward in their lives. The Coaching and Life Skills Counselling provided is not advice and is not provided to treat any diagnosed/diagnosable mental health disorder(s). Coaching and Life Skills Counselling services provided by Jordon Iorio Personal Development & Life Coaching are performed in a fashion that does not fall within the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) definition of the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy, as follows - “Treating, by means of psychotherapy technique, delivered through a therapeutic relationship, an individual’s serious disorder of thought, cognition, mood, emotional regulation, perception or memory that may seriously impair the individual’s judgment, insight, behaviour, communication or social functioning.”

By entering this relationship, the Coach and Client acknowledge that the Client wants to make significant progress and changes in his/her life. Because progress and change happen at rates that are unique to each individual, the Coach and client commit to working with each other for a minimum of three sessions following an initial informational meeting/consultation (if requested by the client) and, if a package is purchased by the client, the cost of the package purchased must be paid in full 24 hours prior to the first coaching session following the verbal agreement to purchase a package. This allows the coaching relationship necessary time to develop and progress through objectives, obstacles and successes that occur.

Client accountability:

The success of any coaching relationship is always determined by both the perspective given by the coach and the follow through by the client. This process is known as accountability. Scheduled appointments will be agreed upon, action steps will be agreed upon, and accountability to both the process and the agreements made during each coaching session will determine the success of the coaching process. The services to be provided are either in-person coaching, online live video coaching (if agreed upon verbally), tele-coaching, and/or a combination of the aforementioned service types as designed jointly with the client. Coaching, which is not advice, therapy, or mental health counseling, may address specific personal, business, or general goals and objectives. Any decisions and/or actions the client chooses to take, following the commencement of the coaching relationship, in relation to the clients life are solely his/her decisions, are made at his/her discretion and are not the responsibility of the Coach in any shape or form.

confidentiality & personal information:

Personal information is information about an identifiable individual. Personal information includes information that relates to: an individual’s personal characteristics (e.g., gender, age, income, home address or phone number, email, ethnic background, family status); health (e.g., health history, health conditions, health services received by them); or activities and views (e.g., religion, politics, opinions expressed by an individual, an opinion or evaluation of an individual). Personal information is different from business information (e.g., an individual’s business address and telephone number). This is not protected information.

All information provided by a client or about a client shall remain confidential and will not, at any time, unless legally required, be shared with any other individuals or organizations. Any notes or agreements signed by a client shall be kept by the Coach in a locked and secure space and will be available to be viewed by the client at their request if needed. Any notes taken by the coach will not contain the clients’ surname/last name ('initial' to appear only). Any notes or documents signed or related to a client will be destroyed at 10 years following the agreed upon end of the coaching relationship, as opposed to the date of the initial Agreement/Service form signed and dated by the client.

refund & guarantee policy:

Because coaching is a relationship-based service, and not a material product, no refunds or guarantees shall be offered once a Coach/client relationship commences and Agreement/Service Form is signed. Legitimate emergencies and illnesses may be taken into account, if deemed legitimate and reasonable by the Coach when a client cannot attend a session.

appointments:

All coaching sessions shall be scheduled in advance. Coaching sessions may be re-scheduled only when given written notice a minimum of 48 hours (2 business days) before the scheduled appointment.

initial session / free consultation:

A free 20‐minute consultation session is provided in-person or via telephone to introduce the coaching process to the potential client. After this, the Coach and the client can discuss entering into a coaching relationship.
